From the moment we entered the parking lot, the experience was great. The aroma was mouthwatering. The decor was great with the antiques and rustic appeal. The service was outstanding and the waitress was attentive and friendly. The food choices were great and reminded me of home meals. The food arrived promptly. The stew was real stew and tasted fantastic and reminded me of past meals with family and friends. The squash casserole melts in your mouth. The sweet tea was so good it reminded me of the tea my grandmother made. I highly recommend going by and make sure you are hungry. Portions are good and the prices are very competitive. Great experience!
Right around the corner from home . This place has very good BB-Q. the best thing was the chicken..and I'm not a chicken fan. The dark meat they use is out of this world. The sauces they have to accommodate the food doesn't overpower everything. And we were finishing up our lunch . The waitress told use they do Steak with shrimp on Fridays. So we're definitely coming back for that. What we ordered was the sampler plate. It was enough food for my wife and myself. I got the baby back ribs and chicken. And again, the chicken was to die for. Everything else was great too. Now the collard greens. Didn't have much flavor on them but that didn't hurt my experience at all. I loved the fact that the BB-Q has good flavors that don't even need bb-q sauce to make them taste good. So the sauces are an option, not a requirement to experience the food. Update: i came back in on friday for their steak and shrimp I asked my steak for medium rare, unfortunately, my steak was cooked to medium. I was not happy but it had good flavor. So I dropped my food rating from a 5 to a 4.
We stopped in for dinner at this locally owned BBQ spot on the way back home after our day trip to Athens. We ordered the sampler platter to share along with a sweet tea and a lemonade. The sampler player came with brisket, chopped pork, ribs, Mac and cheese and beans. The meat was tender, flavorful and enjoyable. The Mac and cheese was good but even better with a bit of salt that I added. The beans were tender and seemed ketchup based but were tasty. The tea was a bit sweet for my liking, but I'm also not southern. We eyed the peach cobbler and apple crumble but were too full for either. When we walked in we were greeted kindly and told we could sit anywhere we wanted to. Within just a few minutes our waitress was at our table kindly asking for our drink order. She brought chips along with cups of ice. On the table was 4 different types of sauce, and they were all delicious in their own way. We enjoyed each with different meats from our sampler. The restaurant was clean with a large seating area and a great size parking lot. They had a separate dining area with round tables that was closed off as well. Service was quick and efficient. I'd definitely recommend you stop at this place to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We’ve been coming to G Brand for almost 3 years now. All the sauces are tasty, but my favorite is Anne’s White Sauce. A great locally owned and operated restaurant. Everything we’ve order has been good. We’re looking forward to our next trip.
We ate lunch in the biggest city in Oglethorpe county the metropolis city of Crawford GA with a stop light. The BBQ plate is worth the drive. The BBQ had a great flavor, the stew was great, the coleslaw was good. It's in the Chevy dealership their great old sigh hanging up. Good price. We will be back.
Stop here almost every Friday. The food never disappoints. It is always served warm and perfect size portions. The pulled pork is shredded to the right size and is moist, NEVER greasy, perfectly balanced flavor, the sauces are tangy and sweet. As for the sides the Cole slaw is probably the best I've ever had, its minced into small squares and very creamy. The baked beans are sweet and flavorful. Not to mention the service is amazing. People are very friendly and helpful all the time. Prices are fair.
This is the best BBQ place around in my humble opinion. I will tell you all you need to know with this...it is an hours drive away but worth it... My wife agreed to having them cater our wedding. Now if your wife on her day lets a BBQ restaurant cater her wedding you know that they are top notch! Meet the owner if you can because he is one of the nicest people we've met. We wish continued success in all their future endeavors! Oh, and the stew is one of the best I ever tried...we bring home quarts of it each time we visit!
What a great find in Crawford Ga. I have passed by this place several times and have been wanting to stop by. Am I glad I finally gave it a try. The atmosphere is cool. The staff is friendly and all seem happy to be there. I had the special which included 3 ribs, 2 sides, bread a drink and desert for 13.99. What a deal! Eveything was really good. Our server Alexs suggestions were spot on. Needles to say I will be back.
